I found out the lyrics for my band's songs are a source of many insightful quotes. Of course, not everyone will get what we mean exactly every single time, but each person can have their own interpretation. That's art.

I'll be scanning through our songs soon, and seeing which lines would work best in a conceptual setting.

Hehe, yeah.. The real meaning behind it is kind of wierd, though.

For example, someone that hurt you, and you're hurting back because of that, tells you to let go of the grudge already. And you say "I don't hold grudges, I only return favors." And you give them a little sarcastic wink.

Get the meaning? Lol.

kind of a deceptive meaning...it makes it seem like a nice thing by saying 'favors' but in reality its a bit more cynical :evillaugh:

Haha, exactly. It's the sarcasm in "favors" that gives the phrase its correct meaning.
